Michael Capo said he was presenting petitions on behalf of GuidePoint Montessori School and the Heatherwood community and told the board the site is “less than 300 feet from the GuidePoint Montessori School” and that nearby traffic and on-site debris make the location unsafe. Mel Skelton, a neighbor, showed photographs of trash and alleged creek contamination near Wren Creek and urged the board to consider noise walls and other site improvements before any alcohol sales begin.
County legal staff reminded the board that zoning stipulations are enforced during construction and inspections, and that the hearing before the review board — not public comment at this meeting — was the record used to evaluate the alcohol application. The clerk and county attorney also clarified procedure: the July hearing was recorded and provided to the absent commissioner for review prior to his vote.
The board—s action affirms the Lisonbee Review Board—s prior approval and authorizes county staff to proceed with licensing steps consistent with county and state rules for alcohol package sales.
