Terica Smith pleads guilty in two cases; judge orders anger-management and therapy recommendation

Terica Smith entered guilty pleas Sept. 23, 2025, in two cases before State Court of Clayton County. On one case involving property damage at 228 Morrow Road, Apartment B13 in Forest Park the state recommended 12 months with 23 days to serve, credit for time served, balance suspended and no restitution requested by the victim. On a separate trespass case at 207 Southlake Cove Court in Jonesboro, the state recommended 12 months with 30 days to serve, credit for time served, and an order not to return to the location; the court ordered the 23-day sentence to run concurrent with the 30-day sentence. Defense counsel said the defendant accepted the negotiated pleas. Judge Tammy Long Hayward commented at length about Smith’s pattern of behavior, urging Smith to seek therapy and anger-management to avoid repeated arrests and telling her that therapy is preferable to incarceration. The judge ordered standard credit for time served and suspended balances consistent with the negotiated pleas and the no-return conditions.
