The Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 Board of Education approved the district improvement plan and individual school improvement plans and placed proposed new high-school courses and updated curriculum guides on a 30-day display for fiscal year 2027.
During the curriculum and technology report the board reviewed school improvement plans and asked questions in advance of the vote. The board motion to approve the school improvement plans carried on a roll-call vote; a subsequent motion placed the proposed high-school courses — astronomy, interior design, merchandising and manufacturing, residential plumbing and residential electric — and the high-school and middle-school curriculum guides for fiscal year 2027 on a 30-day display. "It is my motion, to approve," a member said before the roll call; the motion passed.
Members of the board asked questions during committee review; the presentation and vote followed the curriculum committee's recommendation. The display period will allow the public to review the proposed courses and curriculum guides before the board takes any final adoption action.
The actions were recorded as formal motions and approved during the meeting; the transcript shows the motions were seconded and approved by roll call. The board did not record any amendments to the course proposals during the meeting.
