The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission accepted several donations and approved a resolution to transfer $1,000 from the YARC Fund to cover Special Olympics expenses for recent tournaments. Staff presented three monetary donations: $49,250 from the Friends of West Bend Skatepark (funds provided by donor Mike Nast) for the skate park project; $400 from the Riverside Disc Golf Club and Josh Grama for course upkeep; and $730.50 from Lynch Motor Group (Buick dealership) to support Special Olympics.\n\nCarolyn (Parks, Recreation and Forestry staff) presented a separate resolution requesting the $1,000 transfer from the YARC Fund to the department’s expense account to cover hotel and meal costs for Special Olympics athletes after recent weekend tournaments in the Wisconsin Dells. The commission approved acceptance of the donations and passed the transfer resolution by voice vote.\n\nStaff noted the skateboard donation will be used toward the Grindline design contract previously approved by the commission, and the smaller donations will support Riverside Disc Golf Club maintenance and Special Olympics programming. The transfer from the YARC Fund is intended specifically to reimburse costs for athlete accommodations and related tournament expenses.
