Council renames Alley 20 as Scott Brennan Way

Lake Havasu City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to adopt Resolution No. 25-3872, designating Alley 20 north of South Palo Verde Boulevard and El Camino Drive as Scott Brennan Way.

The renaming follows an application and a review by the city's street-naming committee. The applicant, Jamie Brennan, addressed the council during the public hearing, describing her late husband Scott Brennan's long ties to the community and his decades of service as the owner of Scotty's Broasted Chicken. "I come to you not only as a member of the community, but also as someone carrying the love and memory of a remarkable man," Jamie Brennan said.

The committee found the application met the city's naming policy and reported no negative impacts to businesses along the alley. Councilmember David Diaz moved adoption of the resolution and Councilmember Jim Dolan seconded. The motion carried 7-0.

Council members and several family members in the audience said the designation will be a lasting local tribute to Scott Brennan's contributions to youth sports and the local economy. The resolution directs city staff to take the administrative steps needed to complete the street-name change.

The renaming covers the frontage identified in the application; the measure does not change property addresses or zoning. Staff said they followed standard notice procedures and received the public support letters required by city policy.

The council's action completes the local approval step; the city staff will implement street signs and update internal records as the next administrative steps.
