At the end of the Sept. 23 meeting the City of Sydney council voted to go into a closed session to discuss personnel related to the city manager search.
A council member moved to enter closed session "for the purpose of personnel—city manager search"; the motion was seconded and the council recorded affirmative votes before adjourning the open portion of the meeting.
Under Nebraska open-meetings rules, personnel deliberations about specific candidates are permitted in closed session; the council provided no additional details in the public portion of the meeting.
