Chilton County tables bid authorization for UTV/ATV trails at Manuka Park pending specifications

Commissioner Bone asked the Chilton County Commission for a resolution to start taking bids to build UTV and ATV trails on newly purchased property at Manuka Park. "I would like a resolution to start taking bids on the building of the UTV and ATV trails on the newly purchased property at Manuka Park," Bone said.

Commissioners and county counsel discussed the need for design work and specifications before a bid package can be put out. The attorney noted that the new ground must be laid out and the project must be designed and spec'd before bids can be solicited. When asked for a timeline, staff said they might have bid documents by the end of the next week.

The motion to proceed with bids was tabled until the specifications are complete. Commissioner Bone made the motion and Commissioner Perkins seconded; the chair said, "Table it," and staff said they would return the item when the specs are ready.
