Board elects new chair and vice chair; updates bank signature authorization

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Board of Education elected Chris Lanier to serve as chair and Casey Bryant as vice chair of the board; both were chosen by show-of-hands votes and will assume duties in October 2025.
Nominations for chair and vice chair were conducted during the meeting. Mr. Lanier received at least the four votes required to be elected chair. Miss Bryant was elected vice chair with four affirmative votes. The board’s attorney, Mr. Goodson, explained the nomination and voting process before the ballots were taken by show of hands.
Following the officer elections, the board voted unanimously to update depository authorization to reflect the upcoming change in officers; the vote to change authorized check signatures passed 6–0. The district noted the revised signature authorization will take effect in October when the new officers assume their roles.
The elections were procedural and part of the board’s regular organizational responsibilities. The chair and vice chair will preside over meetings beginning October 2025 and will be reflected on bank records after the depository authorization change is processed.
