Wind project ramps up in Page and Fremont counties; developer reports major component deliveries

A representative reported to the Page County Board that all turbine components for a regional wind project have been delivered to their sites and that construction has advanced rapidly: 30 of 54 turbines across Fremont and Page counties are now constructed, up from roughly 22 about two weeks earlier. The representative said two primary cranes were operating in Page County and that remaining work is concentrated in both counties.

Supervisors and staff discussed traffic and safety concerns as construction and harvest season overlap. One supervisor urged contractors to watch vehicle speeds and be mindful of increased harvest equipment on county roads. The representative said he had not received complaints from residents and that much of the remaining work is site finishing and assembly at delivered locations.
