Council approves $15,850 contract to ready council office for expanded county services

Park City authorized a contract with JMG Construction on Sept. 23 for up to $15,850 to renovate a storage room at the City Administration Center into an office with a service window for the Sedgwick County Treasurer’s Office, which plans to expand from offering services one day a week to five days a week. Staff said a 2013 memorandum of understanding allowed county treasurer services at the administration center; with the county’s proposed expansion the county requested an updated quote to convert the space. The estimate from JMG Construction was attached to the council packet and staff said the cost is budgeted to be paid for or reimbursed by the Sedgwick County Treasurer’s Office. Councilmember Charlie Davidson moved to authorize the mayor to execute the contract not to exceed $15,850, to be reimbursed by the Sedgwick County Treasurer; Councilmember Terry Osborne seconded. Councilmember Brandy Bailey recused from discussion and vote citing a conflict of interest. The motion carried and staff will coordinate contract execution and county reimbursement.
