Ordinance 837 amends Chapter 350 (Vehicle and Traffic) to add several handicap parking spaces on North Cherry, North Green, North Lincoln, and North Harrison streets and to remove designated handicap spots on East Poplar Street and East Maple Street, as listed in the ordinance language presented to council. Ordinance 838 authorizes acquisition by the exercise of eminent domain of the fee title to the former properties at 310 and 312 East Cherry Street. Councilors said there had been no recent update from the property owners after years of outreach; one councilor said efforts to contact owners had spanned about five years. Councilors expressed frustration at the delay but agreed to take the statutory steps to obtain title for borough needs. Both ordinances were moved, seconded and carried without recorded dissent.
