Council approves $65,500 KDOT AI transportation evaluation agreement

City staff told the Park City Council that a previously approved motion needed to be updated to match the full obligation of a Kansas Department of Transportation grant agreement for a transportation network evaluation using artificial intelligence. Staff said the grant is reimbursement-based and requires the city to obligate the full amount of $65,500 even though the net city cost will be smaller. "Staff received approval at the September 9 council meeting for the mayor to execute an agreement for the innovative technology grant with the Kansas Department of Transportation for a transportation network evaluation using artificial intelligence. The grant is funded through reimbursement requiring the obligation to reflect the total amount of $65,500 as opposed to the motion which was made for $16,375," the staff presentation said. Councilmember Jim Schrader moved to authorize the mayor to execute the agreement and to pay the $65,500 from the street and highway fund; Councilmember Troy Hill seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote; the clerk recorded the matter as approved.
