Council approves flat 2026 budget for Blue Rock Regional Fire Commission; commission fundraising for new building

Millersville Borough Council voted to adopt the Blue Rock Regional Fire Commission’s 2026 budget as presented.
Dwayne, speaking for the commission, said the bottom line for Blue Rock’s 2026 budget is flat after reassigning line items and that the commission is beginning to raise funds for a planned new building. "Our budget is gonna be flat this year... the big thing for us is start to really raise funds for the new building," he told council.
Council asked no substantive questions and approved the budget by voice vote. Commission representatives said the department had only one increase in 15 years and that rising costs are creating challenges going forward; they also said they are working with state representatives on funding plans for the building.
The approved budget will be adopted for 2026 and the commission will continue fundraising and outreach to state officials.
