Work continues on EMS Station 1; contractor payments and construction milestones reported

County project staff updated commissioners that construction at EMS Station 1 is progressing with interior systems and concrete pours underway. Project manager Jeff Hicken reported crews are installing radiant-heat tubing in the apparatus bay, spray-foaming and placing rebar, and installing bollards at each garage door. The contractor plans the second-to-last concrete pour (approximately 200 cubic yards) on the coming Friday; Xcel Energy recently required an additional 10-by-10 concrete pour for an electrical pad, a change staff said they are incorporating. A $22,862.67 progress payment to D2C Architects for EMS Station 1 appeared in the voucher batch the board approved for release. Staff said the project has seen "very few delays" and is working to catch back up where minor schedule impacts occurred. Commissioners asked questions about sequencing and design engineers; staff said engineers will still be hired for foundation and interior systems such as sprinklers and water.
