Mohawk Hudson Executive Director Ashley Bauch said the organization has a long-standing partnership with the city, including animal-control collaboration and community education. Bauch said the donation will help a pilot program of pop-up pet food pantries and other programs designed to keep pets in their homes, and directed residents to mohawkhumane.org for program details. Golf professional Matt Daley, who ran the raffle, thanked players and named the raffle winner.
The donation was announced at the start of the meeting during ceremonial remarks and the council acknowledged the gift without formal vote. Bauch described the society’s low-cost spay-and-neuter program and said the pop-up pantries rotate locations within the city to improve access.
Mayor McCarthy and others thanked Daley and the golfers who supported the raffle. No city funding action was recorded in the transcript in connection with the donation.
