Billings school officials visit Westminster to study Project AWARE mental-health work

Superintendent Dr. Gatto reported that staff from Billings Public Schools in Montana visited Westminster for two and a half days to learn about the district’s Project AWARE implementation. Dr. Gatto said the Colorado Department of Education referred the Billings district to Westminster for guidance. “The WPS footprint will be alive and well in Billings,” he said, summarizing the visiting team’s impressions.
The visit was presented as a district-to-district technical exchange; no formal intergovernmental agreement or contract was discussed during the meeting, and no board action was taken. The superintendent framed the visit as recognition of local practice and a chance to share lessons on providing mental-health supports and related programming.
