The Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Education Foundation reported $1.2 million in assets and awarded $166,348 in local scholarships during 2024; the foundation highlighted $83,250 in classroom/resource grants and fundraising revenue of about $454,000.
The Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Education Foundation reported Tuesday that it held more than $1.2 million in assets with no liabilities and awarded $166,348 in local scholarships in 2024. The foundation also distributed $83,250 in classroom and resource grants and reported roughly $454,000 in revenue and $389,000 in expenses for the year.
Ally Surface, representing the foundation, told trustees the group supports students and staff through scholarships, grants, and fundraising programs. “We operate on a fiscally sound budget beginning in January and ending in December,” Surface said, summarizing financial and program activity.
Surface said the foundation served 1,600 students at the 2024 back-to-school event and described separate funding streams for scholarships, staff grants, and program fundraising. She said the foundation’s “Carry the Torch” program supports fine-arts and STEM and that some funds are reserved so 100% of staff-directed “Because We Care” contributions go to classrooms.
Board members thanked the foundation for its role in supporting classroom programs and teacher development. Superintendent Hollingsworth and trustees noted the foundation’s two-decade history and the role it plays in the district’s growth, with Surface recalling the foundation’s founding by former superintendent Weldon Halfley.
Surface said the foundation posts its 990 tax filings online for donors and that detailed private financial records were available to trustees on request. The foundation also recognized long-serving board members and local supporters during the year.
Trustees did not take separate action on the report; the foundation’s annual summary was provided for information and will be part of the district’s public record.
