The Village of Gurnee Board of Trustees on Sept. 22 approved its consent agenda, a set of procurement requests and two purchases in new business, with all recorded roll-call votes 5–0. The consent agenda approved the minutes of the Sept. 8 meeting; Resolution 2025-10, designating certain village property as surplus; police-department-found and abandoned property actions related to Fire Department unit number 1397; award of an investigations corridor carpet replacement to low bidder Libertyville Carpet and Tile Ltd. at $23,565; renewal of a one-year Microsoft Software Assurance maintenance agreement with Dell Marketing LP at an estimated $29,500 under the State of Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology contract; and routine payroll and bills (payroll for the period ending September 2025: $1,106,266.36; bills for period ending Sept. 22, 2025: $3,934,216.67). In new business the board approved a fire-department request to purchase a 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe SSV from Raymond Chevrolet for $58,772, replacing a 2012 Ford Explorer with about 92,000 miles. Staff noted the village’s state-contract price was $60,677 and that Raymond Chevrolet’s bid was approximately $2,000 below that amount; the vehicle purchase was included in the current budget. The motion was made by Trustee O'Brien and seconded by Trustee Balmes; the roll call was recorded as Woodside — Aye; Ross — Aye; O'Brien — Aye; Balmes — Aye; Thirkinson — Yes (motion carried, 5–0). The board also approved the Information Systems Division’s request to purchase 26 Mobile Data Computers, accessories and extended warranties from CDW-G in the amount of $123,145.22. The units will replace 2019 equipment running Microsoft Windows 10, which reaches end-of-life and will no longer receive security updates. The purchase includes keyboards, vehicle docks, adapters and extended service agreements; funding was included in the current budget. The motion was made by Trustee Balmes and seconded by Trustee Ross and passed by roll call (5–0). No public comments were made on these items during the meeting. The board adjourned after a single public-comment speaker declined to speak.
