Trophy Club’s Town Council on Sept. 22 authorized the town manager to negotiate and execute a professional services agreement with Olsen Incorporated for gateway, water‑tower and wayfinding signage design in an amount not to exceed $111,300. The town said the design work will be funded from the hotel‑occupancy tax fund and that implementation and construction costs will be phased through the capital improvement plan.
Staff described a public RFP process conducted in June that produced three proposals; two firms were interviewed and a review committee of department heads selected Olsen Incorporated as best aligned with project requirements. The program will be delivered in two phases: Phase 1 will cover the design scope and concepts; Phase 2 will address implementation and construction with annual CIP allocations.
Staff recommended approval and said the project will include community input during the design phase. A council member moved to authorize the town manager to negotiate and execute the professional services agreement in a not‑to‑exceed amount of $111,300; Council member Gary seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Council members asked for public involvement during the design process; staff confirmed community outreach opportunities will be scheduled as designs are developed. Work on design concepts is expected to begin in 2026 if the agreement is executed.
"Total cost will be, not to exceed a $111,300 and will be funded through the hotel occupancy tax fund. Staff does recommend approval of this project, which if approved will begin '26," a staff presenter said during the item.
The town will publish timelines for community meetings and next steps once the agreement is finalized.
