The council approved a motion to postpone second reading of 25‑23 and later called the roll on the postponement, which passed 7–0.
An earlier staff comment noted postponement was an option and that requesting an extension from the Ohio Board of Liquor Control was not a guarantee; council moved to postpone rather than seek an extension.
No substantive discussion or public comment on the ordinance occurred at the Sept. 22 meeting; the item was rescheduled for the October meeting.
