Hamilton County adopts updated Title VI nondiscrimination plan and policy

Hamilton County commissioners unanimously approved an updated Title VI nondiscrimination plan and an accompanying policy to incorporate the plan into the county's governance manual, county staff said. Stephen Rushforth presented the resolution, saying the update was required by federal and state periodic review. "These two documents combined will help the county remain compliant with the Title VI Civil Rights Act, strengthen accountability and reaffirm the county's commitment to equal access and nondiscrimination in all grantee and services," Rushforth said. Rushforth told commissioners the documents had been reviewed by the county's Title VI coordinator, the legal division and the county attorney, and that three signature areas would need signing if the board approved. Commissioners voted to adopt the plan and policy and authorized signatures. The transcript records no public comments or dissent during the vote.
