Board approves multiple policy revisions on first reading, adopts student conduct policy on final reading

At the meeting the school board approved a package of board policy revisions on first reading and completed a second reading and final adoption of the district’s student conduct and discipline policy (policy FF).

On first reading the board moved to approve recommended revisions to multiple policies, including ACCB (protections for student victims), FFD (possessing weapons), FFE (extracurricular participation requirements), FGA (student education records and privacy), GABE (human trafficking prevention and awareness), GACB (patriotic exercises), GACE (alternative methods of credit for graduation and curriculum requirements) and KADA (weapons/prohibitions on school property). The motion to approve the new recommendations and revisions was moved by Mister Seeks and seconded by Vice President Schwartz. The board conducted a roll-call vote; the meeting record shows Wodakowski, Seeks, Vice President Schwartz and the chair voting Aye and the motion carrying.

Later in the agenda the board considered policy FF (student conduct and discipline) for second reading and final adoption. Vice President Schwartz moved approval for final adoption; Mister Seeks seconded. The board conducted a roll-call vote: Mister Seeks, Vice President Schwartz, Mister Rodekowsky and the chair were recorded as voting Aye and the motion carried, adopting policy FF as presented.
