The Finance and Personnel Committee reviewed a routine then-and-now appropriation to cover invoices for mattresses at the new fire station.

Committee members said the purchase was for high-end mattresses for the station’s bunk rooms and that the appropriation is a record-keeping matter to pay invoices already incurred prior to formal encumbrance.

Member Wood noted an emergency clause would be required to expedite the payment; staff confirmed the item will be introduced at the next regular council session with the appropriate emergency language.

No final action was taken in committee Monday; the appropriation will return to council for introduction and an emergency clause as appropriate.
