The project was publicly bid with six valid bids and one nonresponsive submission. Director Sarah said the lowest responsive bidder submitted about $506,233, which was below the city engineer’s estimate of roughly $552,000. She said the work is fully funded from stormwater rates and a bond issued to finance the construction; the repair also helps meet renewal conditions with the Corps of Engineers and avoids risks such as potential sinkholes.
