State Theater construction to resume; Battery Park developer to file final PUD next month, city says

On Battery Park, staff said the Marus-led development team plans to present a final PUD to the planning commission in October. The developer is selecting a demolition contractor and expects to begin selective demolition and preparatory site work in roughly 4 to 6 weeks, pending a final timeline the developer will provide. Staff said the developer is seeking additional funding that will not be available until January and that some details remain under negotiation.
Other updates: the recreation center procurement received 10 design-build qualifications; staff will narrow submissions and invite three teams to submit full proposals, with final selection expected in December. The city also announced a Welcome Home Ohio ribbon-cutting for two homes at 1815 and 1817 Pierce scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
