During its Sept. 23 meeting the Fillmore County Board unanimously approved the 2025–26 budgets for Bryant and Geneva Townships, authorized each township to add up to 1% additional budget authority for fiscal year 2025–26 as allowed by statute, and voted to request audit waivers for both townships.
The board opened and closed separate advertised public hearings for Bryant Township (opened 8:45 a.m.; closed 8:54 a.m.) and Geneva Township (opened 8:55 a.m.; closed 9:04 a.m.) after reviewing the advertised budget documents and noting no public testimony. For Bryant Township, a motion to approve the budget was made by Larry Cerny and seconded by Merle Noel; the motion passed unanimously. The board then moved to request an audit waiver and authorized up to 1% additional authority as recorded in the minutes. For Geneva Township the board took identical actions: authorization of up to 1% additional authority, approval of the township budget as advertised, and a request for an audit waiver; all motions passed unanimously.
All township-related motions carried with votes recorded as Ayes from supervisors Cerny, Graham, Harre, Lightwine, Neiman, Noel and Sluka, and no Nays.
These actions are procedural approvals of township budgets and administrative requests; the transcript records the motions, seconds, and unanimous vote tallies but does not provide additional budget line-item detail in the minutes.
