Decatur County holds post-award hearing on 2014 CDBG funds for Simmons-McIntyre road and drainage

During its Sept. 23 meeting the Decatur County Board of Commissioners held a public post-award informational hearing on the 2014 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the Simmons-McIntyre Road neighborhood. County Administrator Gary Breedlove read the budgeted line items and said the project would benefit 81 low- and moderate-income residents.
Breedlove read the allocations as presented: approximately $25,150 for contingencies; $278,377 for street improvements; $33,405 and $12,993 for engineering (two separate line items); $120,075 for flood and drainage facilities; and $30,000 for administration. Breedlove also said Decatur County would contribute approximately $142,416 as match and leverage for the project.
The hearing was informational; Breedlove noted the funds have been approved for construction of street and drainage improvements in the Simmons-McIntyre Road neighborhood. There were no public comments at the hearing, and the county closed the public hearing.
