Sellersburg staff report: Exit 9 closure, Highway 60 work timeline and police recognition

At the Sept. 22 Sellersburg Town Council meeting, town staff and council members relayed several public-service updates, including a planned northbound closure at Exit 9, event announcements and recognition of a police officer.
Charlie, presenting the staff report, listed upcoming events: a Food Truck Wednesday at Wilkerson Park (4 to 8 p.m.), a fall American Legion street dance, a brass rabbit event at Wilkinson Park and a car show; downtown businesses were expected to remain open for the events. Charlie also described the towns fall clean-up week and hydrant-flushing schedules and said the town would post details on the website.
Charlie said Exit 9 northbound (from State Road 31) will be closed "for up to 10 days approximately" and reminded residents the closure could begin "any day now." When asked about the Highway 60 project timeline, staff estimated the project will take "approximately 30 days" from the date it started; staff said they would follow up with a more specific date.
Police staff reported that Officer Reynolds was recognized at the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) conference in Indianapolis for patrol work and participation in DUI grants and patrols in the area. The council and staff congratulated Reynolds for the state-level recognition.
Councilmembers encouraged residents to drive carefully as daylight shortens and to check the town website for event and service details.
