Trophy Club approves $111,300 agreement to design gateway and wayfinding signage

The Trophy Club Town Council on Sept. 22 authorized the town manager to negotiate and execute a professional services agreement with Olsen Incorporated for a comprehensive gateway, water‑tower and wayfinding signage design in a not‑to‑exceed amount of $111,300. Staff said the project supports the town’s strategic initiative to develop a wayfinding and monument signage package to enhance the town brand and will be executed in two phases: Phase 1 for scope and design concepts and Phase 2 for implementation and construction with costs allocated annually through the town’s capital improvement plan. The design work will be paid from the hotel‑occupancy tax fund. A request for proposals published in June drew three proposals; a review committee of several department heads selected two finalists for interviews and recommended Olsen Incorporated as the firm that best aligned with the project objectives. Town staff told the council the project will include community engagement and that there will be “plenty of opportunities along the way” for public input. A motion to authorize the town manager to negotiate and execute the agreement in a not‑to‑exceed amount of $111,300 was made and seconded; the council voted to approve the authorization. If the agreement proceeds as planned, design work is expected to begin in 2026 and implementation will be scheduled through the capital improvement program.
