Resident flags Jefferson County CORA portal link issues; county public affairs to follow up

A Jefferson County resident told the Board of County Commissioners on Sept. 23 that differences between the county’s public web pages and the CORA (Colorado Open Records Act) request link have made it difficult for members of the public to find referral-agency documents and other records related to a development project.
Lynn Clemens, who said she has filed many CORA requests, described repeatedly following the county web instructions and ending up with an incorrect link that the records office later corrected. “This is a barrier for the public to get information from the county on a very serious problem,” Clemens said, and she offered to work with county staff to test and improve the web flow.
Chair Dahlkemper introduced Cassie Pierce, the county’s public affairs director, and asked Pierce to connect with Clemens; the chair said staff would work through Pierce to review any questionable links and that Clemens could forward documents to the county records office for inclusion in the public file. No vote or formal action occurred; staff agreed to follow up with Clemens and to review the county web guidance for CORA requests.
