Commissioners authorize executive sessions on bargaining, North Broadway property and county attorney evaluation

The Boulder County Board of County Commissioners on Sept. 23 voted to authorize a series of closed sessions covering union negotiations, real property negotiations and a personnel review of the county attorney.
Deputy for the record Natalie Springett confirmed the board had noticed the topics on Sept. 16 and asked the board to authorize executive sessions on Sept. 24. For item 8(a), staff requested a session “pursuant to CRS 24-6-402 subsection 4(e), instructions to negotiators, regarding collective bargaining agreement with the Boulder County Employees Union.” The board approved the request by voice vote.
Item 8(b) requested authorization “pursuant to CRS 24-6-402 subsection 4(a)” to discuss real property issues concerning the North Broadway complex at Broadway and Iris. Commissioners approved that executive session as well.
Item 8(c) sought an executive session “pursuant to CRS 24-6-402 subsection 4(f), personnel matters,” to discuss the annual performance evaluation of County Attorney Ben Pearlman; the board voted to authorize that session.
Separately, while sitting as the Boulder County Housing Authority Board of Directors, the board authorized an executive session under CRS 24-6-402(4)(a) to discuss a potential limited partnership on an affordable housing project at 4775 Spine Road in Gunbarrel; staff clarified any public decisions would be scheduled at a later BCHA public meeting.
All four requests were approved by voice vote during the Sept. 23 meeting.
