High school student recounts starting tennis, praises teammates and practices

A student said they first played tennis during eighth-grade spring break and joined the school team as a freshman, and that they have been playing ever since. "The first time I played was spring break in eighth grade because a bunch of my friends were on the team, So I decided to pick it up mainly I'm a little bit of a follower, you can say," the student said. "So I just kinda followed them and then I, like, joined the team freshman year and I've been playing ever since."

So having, like, a teammate out there that is supporting you and, I mean, the whole team is supportive, but just, like, being out there physically active is great," the student said. "Favorite memories are probably like sectionals, like chilly morning bus rides, and just like the memories you get to make there," the student said.

Speaking about practices, the student said they focus on enjoyment rather than pressure. "But just like a lot of practices are a lot of fun too. I say just have fun. Like I don't put a lot of pressure on myself. I never really have. Like I'm just here for like to have fun," the student said.
