The Greenwood Parks and Recreation Board received financial and operational reports on Sept. 9 showing improved operating balances and stronger program metrics.
Greg, the department controller, reported operating funds year-to-date of $435,577 and said impact fees were up about $270,000 for the year. He also reported a cash balance of roughly $684,000 and noted that some revenue gaps are expected to close over the coming months.
Staff report items included a successful closing weekend event, preparations for winterization at facilities, and a community campout scheduled for the coming Saturday at Freedom Park. Staff said memberships and day-pass revenues have increased substantially this season and that the department recently filled an open position.
Brooke, a parks/recreation staff member, described winterization work underway at the pool and noted ongoing maintenance and equipment preparations. A staff speaker also flagged that program attendance and revenues are “consistently good,” citing near-year-to-year stability in daily revenues.
No formal board action accompanied the reports; the items were presented for information and future planning.
