Worthington Welcome Center busiest in summer as staff process incoming and outgoing enrollments

Worthington Schools’ Welcome Center was a hub of enrollment activity over the summer as staff processed incoming students, departures and open-enrollment applications, Director of Elementary Education Rob Messenheimer said on the Worth the Journey podcast.
Messenheimer credited Welcome Center staff Tracy Endicott and Tammy Perito for managing a heavy summer workload: “The ladies down there, Tracy Endicott and Tammy Perito, do an awesome job of just being a welcoming face and voice for our families.” He described the Welcome Center as the district’s first touchpoint for many families and said summer is the busiest season for that office.
The Welcome Center handled tasks such as processing open-enrollment requests and completing kindergarten enrollment, Messenheimer said, and staff used the work to understand movement into and out of Worthington Schools. He said the Welcome Center gives administrators insight into enrollment trends and family needs but did not provide exact counts of processed applications or specific timelines during the podcast.
Messenheimer also noted that the Welcome Center supports district goals of making families feel welcomed and ensuring operational readiness for the school year; he said staff are implementing improvements but did not list funding or staffing changes on the interview.
