A committee member reported at the Union County Board of Commissioners meeting that the southern planning committee met in Owen and discussed a solar energy project near Karnak, the Lehi area, and a new gas facility in Compton that will add a fuel tank for gasoline sales. "We did discuss the solar energy project near Karnak," the committee member said. The member also said the village of Compton completed a first round of demolition and has submitted a second round for preapproval affecting Cobden, saying, "the second round now has been submitted, for preapprovals." The committee member announced the committee's next meeting will be Oct. 14 at 5:30 p.m. and invited attendance. The update was presented during the committee reports portion of the meeting; no formal county action on the projects was recorded in the transcript.
