Will Callaway of Garver reported progress on multiple capital projects during the Sept. 18 meeting, giving commissioners timelines for tower and runway work.
Callaway said tile, carpet and laminate touch-ups for the tower rehab were expected to be completed by Oct. 10. He said equipment racks had been delivered and radio hardware was still pending delivery for installation. On the runway rehab, Callaway told the commission the construction punch list was finished the morning of the meeting and the project team was preparing closeout paperwork.
A commissioner asked whether excess funds from projects might be repurposed; Callaway said he had not received details but would follow up with airport staff to clarify options such as an additional generator that had been discussed previously.
Why it matters: completing the tower and runway projects affects airfield operations and the airport’s ability to provide services and maintain regulatory oversight. Documenting remaining equipment deliveries and closeout steps helps commissioners and staff plan next work and any reallocation of project funds.
No votes or formal decisions were taken; staff agreed to follow up on funding-use options at a future meeting.
