New FBO manager Brian Danks reports fuel trends, cancels Halloween event

Brian Danks introduced himself to the Springdale Airport Commission on Sept. 18 as the new FBO manager for Summit and gave a brief operations update covering fuel sales, public events and ramp work.
“I’m excited to be the newly minted… general manager for Summit,” Danks told commissioners, noting he has worked at Summit for about eight years. He reported that jet-fuel sales were up 28 percent from July, while 100LL (avgas) sales were down 17 percent from July; he said volumes are tracking close to seasonal expectations and are “right in the pocket” compared with the year.
Danks said he will not organize the FBO’s Halloween trunk-or-treat this year because he lacks the capacity to run the event while learning the manager role; he said the FBO will revisit events for next year. He also raised an operational concern about trenching or asphalt cuts near the terminal ramp and asked commissioners to consider impacts of cutting the ramp surface for new hydrant connections.
