The Rockingham County Board of Commissioners adopted a proclamation in honor of 4‑H during its Sept. 15 meeting. "The board of commissioners adopted a proclamation in honor of, 4 h," Kevin Berger, chair of the Rockingham County Board of Commissioners, said at the meeting.
Berger noted that 4‑H is administered through NC State. He also encouraged viewers to watch the meeting to see the youth participants who took part in the 4‑H program.
Separately, the board announced Youth Outdoor Day on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 861 Rocky Ford Road (the Reedsville Training Center). "We do have t shirts, free lunch, a falcon demonstration," Berger said, and added that attendees "will have the opportunity to do a little, firearm training as well as fishing and some other activities." The county did not provide further program schedules, registration details, or safety protocols in the meeting remarks.
Commissioners also invited the public to the next meeting on Monday, Oct. 6, at the commission chambers and noted the Rockingham County YouTube page for those who cannot attend in person.
