Heat wave expected this weekend; highs near 90 for Highlands area

Ben, the student weather reporter on the Highlands High School announcements, forecast warmer-than-usual conditions for the coming weekend and for tonight's game.

Ben told listeners the highs and lows will be: tonight, a high of 90 and a low of 60; Saturday, a high of 91 and a low of 62; and Sunday, a high of 80 and a low of 63. "We're gonna be seeing a big rise in temperature this weekend with tonight being a high of 90 and a low of 60, making some hot weather for tonight's game," Ben said.

The announcement did not include heat-advisory guidance, outdoor-safety recommendations, or official weather-watch products from the National Weather Service.

Students and attendees were reminded the forecast came from the student weather segment; no official school weather or athletic modifications were announced.
