The Board of Adjustments voted to allow That’s My Child Youth Organization to operate a private school at a property on Louisville with conditions that the petitioner mark parking spaces and ensure ample exterior lighting.
Charles Lee, founding executive director of That’s My Child, described existing after-school programs, workforce development and an on-site student-run restaurant. Lee said the organization will use multiple buildings on the site for classrooms, a dance studio and an outdoor classroom, and that the school would begin next fall.
Board members asked about parking and lighting. Lee said the site is paved and agreed to mark parking spaces; the board required the petitioner to provide “ample lighting.” The motion to approve included those conditions and passed unanimously 7–0.
The approval was contingent on marking parking spaces and keeping the parking and exterior lighting in place to cover operations that will run into the evening during the initial phase.
