LaSalle County reviewed its monthly financial report, discussed bond-related budget lines and principal payments, and approved a series of requisitions, including payment for a workers' compensation payroll audit and claim-administration fees.
The county’s finance staff reported the month-over-month net change was down $92,002.31 and that seven new claims added about $11,723 in incurred cost for the month. "In total, 7 new claims and $11,723 in additional, incurred amount," a finance staff member reported.
Board members discussed the county’s 2019 bond series. A board member asked whether this was the first year the county would be paying principal on the 2019 bond; another member confirmed it was and said there are four remaining principal payments after this year.
On requisitions, the board approved multiple payments by roll call, including a $4,071 payment to Horton Group for the workmen's-comp audit, a per-diem payment, and fees to CCMSI: $450 for runoff and $6,937.50 for October claim administration. One roll call showed an abstention where a board member abstained from a payment identified as for Sandy Dulles.
The finance director noted adjustments to the draft budget that reflect fewer active bond lines now that only the 2019 series remains outstanding and a tentative reinsurance premium estimate. Staff said any reinsurance premium change would be finalized next month.
Ending: The board took the finance package and requisitions on file and sent the approved requisitions to finance for processing; staff will return revised budget lines at the next meeting if reinsurance premium figures change.
