Superintendent Zach Howard reported the district has assigned SROs to multiple buildings: Corporal Jason Boyd at the Early College High School, Officer Paul Lewis at Marysville High School, Officer Eric Collier at Bunsell/Buncel Middle School, and Officer Steve Hardy at Creekview Intermediate and some elementary coverage. Howard said Raymond Elementary will be served by a sheriff's office officer under a county agreement; the board approved both the county and city SRO memoranda of understanding that evening.
Howard also highlighted a partnership with Memorial Hospital: the hospital assigns three athletic trainers to the district and provides clinical coordination that Howard valued as equivalent to approximately $300,000 in services annually. Howard said the trainers help student-athletes return to play safely and help connect families to medical services.
Formal action: The board voted to approve both SRO memoranda of understanding (City of Marysville and Union County Sheriff's Office) and authorized staff signatories where needed. The votes were moved, seconded and passed by roll call.
