Council approves Musco LED lighting purchase for Seaborn Creek field 3

The Rosenberg City Council on Sept. 12 approved Resolution No. 3955 to purchase LED lighting for Field 3 at Seaborn Creek Regional Sports Complex from Musco Sports Lighting for $139,679 under a cooperative BuyBoard contract (No. 677-22).
City staff said the existing metal-halide fixtures use bulbs that are no longer commercially available without special order and that LED replacement will improve energy efficiency and long-term maintenance. The proposal uses existing poles and includes fixtures and control panels; staff noted Musco provides a 10-year warranty on the installation.
Finance staff reported the project will be paid from the Parkland Dedication Fund; the project is included in the FY 2026 capital improvement program and fields will be updated in phases over future years. Council approved the resolution by unanimous voice vote.
