The Rosenberg City Council on Sept. 12 tabled an ordinance that would create a no-parking zone on Fountains Drive from the Interstate 69 feeder to the Seaborn Creek Regional Sports Complex entrance.
City staff said vehicles parked on Fountains Drive were related to a nearby dealership and were creating sight- and circulation problems for apartment residents and passing traffic. The proposed ordinance (No. 2025-28) would amend Chapter 28 of the city code to prohibit parking along that segment and authorize signage and a penalty for violations.
Several councilmembers asked staff to contact the dealership management and affected property owners before the council votes. Councilmember Jessica moved to table the item to the next council meeting so staff could notify and meet with the dealership and apartment management; the motion passed unanimously.
The council directed staff to return with more information about property ownership and possible alternative solutions before taking final action.
