Tampa Bay Water’s board unanimously approved a four‑year contract with GeoPoint Surveying Inc. for locating and designating utility conflicts across the agency’s infrastructure. Justin Fox, senior engineering and construction manager, said the program supports compliance with the state Underground Facilities Damage Prevention and Safety Act (Call Before You Dig / Sunshine 811) by processing Sunshine 811 tickets, performing field markings, emergency response, and coordinating with other utilities. Fox told the board the combined Tampa Bay Water and contractor team have handled nearly 3,600 Sunshine 811 tickets so far this year and have coordinated, marked, and at times relocated infrastructure to prevent incidents. The contract value presented to the board was $1,661,360 over four years; Councilwoman Hanowicz moved approval, Mayor Davis seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
