O'Brien said the program can help stabilize youth after hospital discharge and that staff are experienced working with youth on the autism spectrum. She said the Focus program works post‑discharge and can serve as a transitional step while families wait for longer programs; the program accepts re‑referrals when clinically appropriate.
When asked whether the program can accept youth who are currently inpatient and awaiting longer placements, O'Brien said Focus operates after discharge and that the longer CLIP program — which she said can have a six‑month wait — might be a better long‑term placement. For intake, O'Brien directed callers to contact Lutheran Community Services and ask for intake.
