FSEC awaits supplemental materials for Hop Hill and Wallula Gap projects; SEPA and wetland reviews pending

FSEC staff on Sept. 17 provided interim updates on two pending solar projects — Hop Hill and Wallula Gap — saying both applications require supplemental materials before staff can complete SEPA or wetland reviews.
John Barnes, FSEC staff, said Hop Hill application review is awaiting supplemental materials related to a proposed project enlargement; the materials are necessary for the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) review and staff will continue coordination with contractors, partner agencies, and tribal governments after the submission.
For the Wallula Gap application, Barnes said staff are working with the applicant to complete supplemental wetland report materials and to identify additional analysis and mitigation after receiving a Traditional Cultural Property (TCP) study from the Yakama Nation Cultural Resource Program. Staff will continue coordination once the supplemental reports and required analyses are received.
No formal council action was taken Sept. 17; items were informational updates and staff said they will resume review and interagency coordination after applicants provide the requested supplemental information.
