FSEC to publish final transmission programmatic EIS in early October; coordinated outreach planned

FSEC staff reported Sept. 17 that final revisions to the transmission programmatic environmental impact statement (EIS) are underway, with a projected publication in early October.
"FSEC staff and our consultant WSP are busy at work putting together the final revisions to the transmission programmatic EIS with an anticipated publication date for the final programmatic EIS in early October of this year," Sean Green, FSEC SEPA specialist, told the council. Staff said they will coordinate outreach with the Department of Ecology and tribal representatives and intend to help jurisdictions and stakeholders understand how the programmatic EIS will be used by project proponents and agencies.
Council members expressed appreciation for interagency coordination and encouraged integrated outreach to understand the programmatic EIS’s effectiveness, including identifying early adopters to test use of the programmatic products. Staff confirmed additional outreach will continue after publication, including engagement with tribal representatives as the programmatic EIS is used.
No council action was taken Sept. 17; staff will publish the final programmatic EIS and undertake coordinated outreach efforts afterward.
