ELAINE HUNT CORRECTIONAL FACILITY — Shannon Mosely (DOC 598876) had his parole denied Sept. 18 after the Committee on Parole concluded he needs additional rehabilitative programming before release. Chair Carolyn Stapleton said the warden recommended further classes and the commissioners cited a lack of completed programming as the reason for denial.
Mosely acknowledged he had not completed the offender treatment courses recommended and said he had sought to postpone the hearing to take classes. The panel held an executive session, then returned and recorded unanimous denials with commissioners citing the need for additional programs and law-enforcement opposition in the record. The board directed Mosely to pursue program completion before a future hearing.
