Claims committees forward 128 claims to county board after two meetings

The county's claims committee met twice and forwarded a total of 128 claims to the Lee County Board for approval, the committee reported. Mike Zeman, who reported to the board, said the committee met on Aug. 20 and forwarded 40 claims to the county board. On Sept. 10 the committee reviewed 88 claims; Zeman said the larger September docket was driven in part by county highway and township gravel items and motor-fuel-tax (MFT) related claims, which the committee processed quickly and forwarded to the county board. Zeman said the committee meetings are held at 9 a.m. in the back office. The committee's action at the meeting was informational reporting to the board; the county board may act on the forwarded claims at a subsequent meeting.
